“After working in the Middle East for many years, it was time to start thinking about coming home and starting the next chapter.
“During the pandemic, I found my perfect house online in March 2020 and needed someone who would look after it for me until I moved back to the UK. I kept Googling ‘residential security’ and other similar terms but all I found was commercial and industrial property maintenance or security companies. Then I found Vik’s 'property concierge’ service – until then I hadn’t known that’s what I needed.
“Even though I hadn’t stepped into the property before the purchase, not knowing when I would be able to travel to the UK, I needed to be sure it was well looked-after in my absence. I contacted Vik and he's been my superstar.
“On the day of completion, my friends were going to collect the keys for me. Vik said: ‘Stop worrying. I've got this’. I also wanted all the locks changed immediately for peace of mind. He took care of everything - it was that simple.
“I use the Gold service, so Vik holds keys, carries out weekly visits, manages my mail, and checks that everything is fine. He even helped me arrange my empty property insurance.
“When I first started talking to Vik, I was a bit grey about how long I would need the service, but he is flexible. He doesn’t make you commit to long contracts.”
“Now, working with him is like banter in the office. There haven’t been any problems at all. I was a bit alarmed when I heard there had been an earthquake in Leighton Buzzard, but Vik reassured me that my house was “still above sea level” and there weren’t any problems.
“Thanks to Covid-19, I wasn’t able to travel back to the UK to view my new home until September 2021; albeit, coming from the Middle East, I was still having to quarantine. But where do I go? Of course, Vik my superstar came to the rescue once again.
“Vik cleared his schedule for two days to be on hand to co-ordinate the move of all my personal belongings from the attic of my rental property to the new house so that I could quarantine there. He managed the cleaning, servicing of the boiler and radiators, testing of all the white goods, professional oven cleaning and the gardener. He received and packed away my deliveries from Waitrose; even allowing me to send my numerous Amazon orders to his home address.
“When I arrived from Heathrow, I walked into my lovely new home, and spent my six days of quarantine, unpacking, very happily “nesting” and supping Pinot Grigio in the Autumn sunshine. None of this could have been possible without the support of Vik and his wife.
