Right to Rent in the UK 

From 1st February 2016 we are required to check the immigration status of every applicant and occupier of a property who is aged 18 or over to confirm they have the right to rent a property in the UK. 

Documents 

There are 2 sections each applicant must complete. Your application will be delayed or refused if the relevant documents are not uploaded. 

1. Identification and Right to Rent Documents

Please upload a copy of your passport. if you do not have a passport please go to (B) below 
Please upload a copy of your UK or Irish Birth Certificate AND photographic ID such as driving licence, military/service identification card. 
Please upload your Share Code details. Information on obtaining a Share Code is on the Identity and Right to Rent page of the Letting Genie Website. 

2. Address Verification Documents 

Documents should be no more than 6 months old and relate to your current address. Only One document is required and you should be named on the document. 

Declarations 

Please read the declarations and then sign to confirm your agreement. 

1. Information supplied by me 

I confirm that the information supplied by me in this application is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that providing false or misleading information may lead to my application being refused and any holding deposit that has been paid being forfeited. 

2. General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 

I understand that the information provided to Letting Genie will be retained and used only as necessary and for a specific purpose in accordance with the GDPR as set out in the Letting genie privacy notice. 

3. Referencing Consent 

Subject to my application being provisionally accepted, I consent to my details being passed to a tenant referencing agency for the purposes of assessing my application by way of credit checks, income and/or employment verification, obtaining a landlord reference and confirming my Right to Rent in the UK. 

4. Third party suppliers 

Subject to my application being successful I consent to Letting Genie providing my details to the following third party suppliers for the purposes described: (1) Smarter Home Move to notify relevant utility and service providers of changes in occupancy (for example, gas, electricity, water, and council tax). This ensures accounts are updated accurately and helps avoid unnecessary charges. Smarter Home Move may also make you aware of additional home-related services (such as broadband, energy, or insurance). You are under no obligation to take up any of these additional services, and your tenancy will not be affected by your decision. Your personal information will be shared with Smarter Home Move only for the purposes outlined above, in accordance with data protection laws. For more details on how your data will be processed, please refer to our Privacy Notice and the Smarter Home Move Privacy Policy. (2) If I have elected to use Reposit (Deposit Alternative Scheme), my details will be passed to Reposit for the purpose of setting up and administering the Reposit during the term of my tenancy. 

5 Consent for documents to be sent by email 

I consent to receiving the following documents and any other documents relating to my proposed tenancy by email: How to Rent, Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), Electrical Inspection and Condition Report (EICR), Gas Safety Certificate (GSC) (if relevant).
